Workplace Trainer and Presenter Program

(TAESS00014)

SkillSet

Harrison Training Group in conjunction with (Malyon Vocational Training) is very excited now to offer our TAESS00014 Workplace Trainer and Presenter Workshop Program. The course content focuses on the key National Training and Education Standards giving them all they need to dynamically deliver workplace content to individuals (or) small and large groups in both training and facilitation modalities. All our classes are facilitated by experienced VET Educators and are designed to be completed in a streamlined manner. Our Trainers will also give you an involved interview upfront and work out ways they can support you during your studies with us. HTG want you to finish what you started and get what you pay for so we are glad to help you along the way with whatever support you might need.

The course content itself is focused on developing you as an Educational Practitioner and gives you the skills of Training (groups) and Facilitating (Individuals) in the delivery of your workplace content. The course covers not only how to be a solid presenter of material (without the waffle) but also what to look for in educating others. Are they getting it? Do you use formative assessment and feedback techniques, such as group activities and questioning techniques? When you need help with becoming someone who is engaging, especially when the content you are transferring is so important, you will be benefited from this program.

imagesFAQ’s around this TAE Skill Set.

Q – Why should my workplace allow me to Train and Assess without a full TAE qualification?

A – Most workplaces realise that completing the full TAE40122 will take at least 12-18 months conservatively. So VET allows for people who are not full-time Trainers and Assessors to access Nationally Recognised Training that will enable them to teach and assess in non-formal contexts without the need to necessarily get the FULL TAE40122. This provision has been made in the new revised Standards for RTO’s (2025) which will come into full regulatory effect from 1 July 2025. For more information of this ruling from the Regulator click here and look for Section 1D of the Credential Policy and the Skills Sets that HTG offer.

NOTE: If you are a full-time Trainer and Assessor, you really need to study the TAE40122.

Q – Can I still sign off on workplace competencies, even though I do not have a full TAE qualification and only the TAESS00014 skill set?

A – The current VET Standards allow the holder of this Skill Set to Train and Asses workplace competencies as long as those competencies are not part of a Nationally Recognised Qualification or Statement of Attainment.

Q – Do I need to have someone Supervise me, and am I still seen as being Under Direction with only a Skill Set and not a full TAE Qualification?

A – Technically, all trainers have someone over them, which ensures their work is being validated and quality controlled. So, as long as you can show that your assessment judgments are overseen by someone who can quality control what you do, you can operate just like a full Trainer and Assessor. Again, you cannot sign off on Nationally Recognised competencies if that assessment leads to a qualification or a statement of attainment.

Q – I want to do this Skill Set Face to Face, but I’m an individual, or my group is not large enough to meet your 8-10 people guideline. What should I do?

A – You can let us know, and we keep a list of people who want to join a group for this program. When we have enough people, we will let you know, coordinate a date and venue between everyone, and make it happen from there.

Q – I would like to meet with someone from Harrison’s to deliver this program at our workplace in a way that suits our current group context.

A – This is a great idea. We can organise a time when we can get an idea of precisely what your goals are so you get the best ROI for your time and money.

Q – Why should I have any of my staff take time out of their busy schedule to do training on this topic even though I know they can improve in this area?

A – There is nothing more painful than having to endure listening to someone training them who

a) Isnt succinct and focussed on what they are saying
b) Does not consider involving their listeners
c) Who thinks that just because they say something, everyone automatically gets it?

Q – Why should I pay for my staff or Upgrade myself to a Nationally Recognised Skill Set? Why not just study something else online?

A – Legally, VET Skill Sets are nationally recognised and held up in legal settings. This cannot be said of any program. If something goes legal and training is a part of the issue, it’s always good to know that your Workplace Trainers hold nationally recognised attainments that support their workplace activities.

Q – How long will this Skill Set take to complete?

A – It is the equivalent of 2 Full Days worth of Intensive Study, but if you are studying it online, it will most likely take you longer.

Q – What happens if I decide later on to study the full TAE40122 will these units in this skill set work towards the TAE40122?

A – Yes both units in the TAESS00014 Workplace Trainer and Presenter Workshop Program are creditable to the TAE40122 so you will only have to study 10 out of the 12 units required for the qualification.
